#1945 Yukata kimono, with a beautiful bold pattern of large blue and white shibori blossoms cascading down finely detailed stripes on a deep indigo blue background. The pattern created by tying 1000's of tiny knots, and a number of large ones, before the dying process.
It is a dark indigo color, but does have little more blue in the pattern than the photos show (see photo #3); and in person has a soft, artful presence. Soft, supple material, unlined, except at the shoulders and seat. A traditional lightweight cotton kimono for wearing around the house, and for short jaunts about town.
Excellent condition, no holes or tears, but 6 or so very minor brownish spots, hardly noticeable, see photo close-ups. Strong, sturdy material. 50"w across shoulders x 57"h, not including collar; armpit to armpit 24". C.1960 . . . $220
