#1709 Large wooden slab table with iron base. The table top is one solid piece of old cypress or maple with beautiful golden brown grain, previously the platform floor of a large tokonoma, the display area for artwork in a home or public place; with notches on its edges from that previous useage. The tabletop is very solid everywhere, and very flat.
There are some old termite holes on the edges, and a few very small ones on the top, but guaranteed nothing active, and no soft areas. The piece was fumigated in the container when it came from Japan; and it has been in my house for the last eight years. (I have since moved to smaller digs). Otherwise, the slab is in very good condition, with only a few very minor nicks and dents.
The iron base is very good quality, custom made for the slab by a skilled metal artisan. It is in very good condition, with a black matte finish, slightly textured. Very strong, sturdy, but still fairly lightweight. A few very minor scruffed spots. There are holes in the top of the base for screws to attach the tabletop, if desired. The slab is 32"w x 73"L x 1"thick. The base is 29"w x 68.5"L x 13"h. Slab C.1910 . . . $590
